Rubik's Cube

Robot CubeStormer 3, created by British engineers, set a world record by collecting a Rubik's Cube for 3,253 seconds.

The record was set on March 15 at the festival The Big Bang Fair in Birmingham.

Cube assembly is carried by robot's four "hands", constructed from parts of Lego Mindstorm EV3. "Brain" of CubeStormer 3 is a smartphone Samsung Galaxy S4 with an eight-processor architecture ARM.

Rubik is photographed by camera of device and then smartphone's software analyzes the image makes decisions and sends the commands to the "hands".

The developers have stated that their goal - to teach a robot to solve the puzzle faster. 3 CubeStormer collects classic Rubik's Cube size 3 by 3 by 3. David Gilday, however,  created a robot champions, working with "non-standard" cubes.

So, his robot MultiCuber collected 3 cube 4 by 4 by 4 in one minute and 18.68 seconds and the 999 decided MultiCuber robot puzzle size 9 9 9 in 34 minutes and 25.89 seconds.
